How To Use The Wisdom Of God
God desires us to walk in wisdom and He has made it available to us (Proverbs 2:6). But how can we tap into it? The Bible is the Word of God and it contains all the wisdom that we need for the things we face in our lives. We have to ask God for His wisdom: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him” (James 1:5). The following verse instructs us to “ask in faith, with no doubting” (James 1:6). We have to seek God’s wisdom, and then, in order to truly reap the benefits, we have to put it into practice.
There is earthly wisdom and there is godly wisdom (James 3:13–17). If the wisdom we are hearing, whether from ourselves or others, is motivated by jealousy or is rooted in selfish ambition it is not the wisdom of God. James 3:17 says: “But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.” We can use these criteria when we are trying to determine what is the wisest approach to take in a given situation.
Having knowledge is the first step, but wisdom takes knowledge to the next level. Wisdom is the ability to know how to harness knowledge and put it into practice. The first step to being willing and able to gain God’s wisdom is holding Him in highest esteem, showing Him the respect He deserves. Having a healthy fear of the Lord opens our hearts to receive His wisdom (Psalm 111:10; Proverbs 1:7). As we invest in our relationship with God, He increases our wisdom and insight: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight” (Proverbs 9:10).
The book of Proverbs centers around the topic of wisdom and discusses how we are blessed when we seek and find it (Proverbs 3:13–18). Listening to and receiving advice is equated with having wisdom (Proverbs 12:15; 19:20). We need to listen to the voice of God through His Spirit and His Word. These are our truest sources of wisdom. As we get to know God through reading and meditating on the Scriptures and through prayer, we will operate in His wisdom if we obey His instructions. When we have the wisdom of God, we are able to walk in it and use it to encourage others (Colossians 3:16).
Jesus came to earth and “became to us wisdom from God” (1 Corinthians 1:30). When we are saved, the Holy Spirit fills us and we have the mind of Christ. God imparts His wisdom to us through His Word and His Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 1 Corinthians 2:9–16). We have God’s wisdom available to us because God’s Sprit is in us and enables us to have spiritual wisdom and understanding: “Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual” (1 Corinthians 2:12–13).
So, in order to tap into the wisdom of God, we must seek it. We do this by asking God for it, studying His Word, listening to His voice, and living in obedience and submission to the Holy Spirit.

The FBI obtained a laptop computer and a hard drive that had emails addressed to Hunter Biden and photographs of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s son, according to a subpoena and other documents published on Wednesday by the New York Post.
The subpoena from the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, dated Dec. 9, 2019, is for an Apple MacBook Pro and an external hard drive.
The subpoena was issued to the owner of an electronics store in Delaware, where the computer was dropped off in April 2019, the store’s owner, who was not named, told the Post.
The billing information given for the computer was Hunter Biden’s name and the computer bore a sticker from the Beau Biden Foundation, which was named after Hunter Biden’s late brother. The store’s owner said the computer and hard drive were seized by the FBI after he alerted authorities to them.
The Post said it obtained a copy of the hard drive from Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer.
Giuliani shared the story on Twitter on Wednesday, promising “much more to come.” During an appearance Wednesday morning on “War Room: Pandemic,” Giuliani said the document release “shows the motive” for Biden’s admission in 2018 regarding Ukraine.
Biden was the Obama administration’s point man on Ukraine, which he confirmed in detail during a talk in 2018.
Biden recounted how in 2015, during a trip to the country, he pressured Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk into getting rid of Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin by threatening not to give a $1 billion loan guarantee.
“I looked at them and said: I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money,” Biden said during a Council on Foreign Relations event. “Well, son of a [expletive]. He got fired.”
“There’s so much evidence against Joe Biden that it is a national scandal that this wasn’t covered years ago,” Giuliani said on Wednesday.
A spokeswoman for Giuliani declined to give a hard drive copy to The Epoch Times.
Trump cited Biden’s comments when defending his 2019 request to Ukraine’s president to have what happened with the Bidens probed, a request that led to the House of Representatives impeaching him late last year because lawmakers argued it was improper.
Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh said the new documents show Biden lied when saying he never discussed Hunter Biden’s business deals.
An FBI spokesperson told The Epoch Times in an emailed statement, “We have no comment, in keeping with our standard practice of neither confirming nor denying the existence of our investigations.”
A spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Delaware told The Epoch Times via email, “Pursuant to DOJ policy, my office can neither confirm nor deny the existence of an investigation.”
Inquiries sent to Hunter Biden’s lawyer and Joe Biden’s campaign were not returned.
Biden’s campaign called a lid, or said the nominee wasn’t appearing in public for the day, a few hours after the story was published.
A spokesperson for the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, which has been probing Hunter and Joe Biden’s past actions, told the Post that it’s working to verify the documents published by the paper.
Emails published by the Post included messages from Vadym Pozharskyi, at the time an adviser to the board of Burisma Holdings, the Ukranian-based energy company that paid Hunter Biden to sit on its board while his father was vice president of the United States.
“Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent some together [sic],” a message purportedly from Pozharskyi read.
Pozharskyi didn’t respond to a request for comment.
Joe Biden has said he has never spoken to his son about his business dealings, though Hunter Biden has said he did speak to his father about Burisma.

God is not deaf to our prayers; rather, He is there beside us, never abandoning us… Pope Francis gave this reminder at his weekly General Audience, today, Oct. 14, 2020, the second consecutive General Audience held in the Vatican’s Paul VI Hall since the pandemic’s virus, due to the Roman rain. This morning, the Holy Father continued his new series of catecheses on prayer, focusing specifically on the Psalms, calling them “a guide to growth in the practice of prayer.” Calling the Book of Psalms as the “great treasury of prayers,” he noted they teach us to pray to God in words that he himself has given us. The human emotions, “from praise, petition and joyful thanksgiving to anguished supplication for deliverance from life’s bitter disappointments and sorrows,” he noted are all encountered in them.
“The Psalms teach us that God is not deaf to our prayers, especially those that arise from a broken heart and a troubled spirit,” he underscored, reminding: The Psalmist’s repeated cry, “How long, Lord?”, is itself an acknowledgment that, amid our every trail and tribulation, God hears our voice and never abandons us.”
Francis reminded that God is our loving Father, who weeps for us and our suffering, but who has “a saving plan for each one of us.”
“The Psalms are thus a guide to growth in the practice of prayer,” he said, noting: “They open our hearts to ever deeper hope in God’s providential care; they confirm our trust in his promises, and they inspire us to persevere on our life-long journey of faith in his word.”
